Sibedee's goal is to help people live healthier and more productively by providing the highest quality natural products to help keep the body in balance (homeostasis). We accomplish this by emphasizing 2 traditional medicine plants that have been used for thousands of years – ginseng and hemp.

Each and every time a customer purchases a 10pm™ product from us they know and trust that they are getting a superior product grown in the United States and manufactured to strict standards. All Sibedee products that are consumed are tested for Delta-9 THC (must be less than 0.3% by law) and other cannabinoids as well as for pesticides, herbicides, and heavy metals. Furthermore, they must meet FDA quality and safety standards before we put our name on it.

Our Story

Our story begins with our founder's wife who suffers from a condition called RLS (restless legs syndrome). In a nutshell, RLS causes an unpleasant sensation in the legs (and sometimes in the arms) and an irresistible urge to move them. More than 80% of the time RLS is accompanied by another condition called "periodic limb movement of sleep (PLMS)", which causes legs to twitch and kick. In severe cases, RLS disrupts sleep which then results in exhaustion, daytime sleepiness, impaired concentration, and interferes with other daily activities.

There's no known cause for RLS though researchers suspect an imbalance of the brain chemical dopamine, which sends messages to control muscle movement, and/or an iron deficiency within the brain itself. According to the National Institutes of Health, RLS is "best characterized as a neurological sensory disorder with symptoms that are produced from within the brain itself."

Anti-seizure drugs such as the standard form of gabapentin and pregabalin are becoming the first-line prescription drugs for those with RLS. Unfortunately, these types of medications taken regularly can lose their effect over time and even make the condition worse (this is called augmentation). This is what happened with the founder's wife.

So the search for a natural solution began.

The Birth of Sibedee's 10pm™ Product Line

It was known that marijuana had positive effects but the founder's wife did not like the associated "high" or legal implications of obtaining marijuana in a state where it is illegal, so marijuana was out. Ultimately the search narrowed to 2 specific cannabinoids:

1. CBG which appears to normalize the brain's muscle movement signaling and reduce spasticity, and
2. Delta-8 THC which helps with relaxation but without the Delta-9 high.

A decent nights sleep was almost always the result. Thus, Sibedee's 10pm™ sleep-related product line was born.

But what to do about side-effects of a restless night's sleep? American ginseng, the "King of Herbs", to the rescue!

Since caffeine is known to exacerbate RLS it was not considered to be the best solution to alleviate the daytime (waking hours) side-effects of her sleep problem (exhaustion, sleepiness, etc.). While purveyors of cannabinoid products (CBD, CBG, CBN, etc.) touted them for daytime use they too did not fit the bill. Cannabinoids just did not make sense to help overcome the negative daytime effects of RLS since they are essentially depressants. What was needed was a natural solution that was safe and did not over-stimulate. Fortunately, there was such a solution -- ginseng, particularly American ginseng.

Ginseng has been used in traditional medicines for well over 2,500 years as a stimulant. In traditional Chinese medicine it was/is used to replenish "Qi" (pronounced "Chee" and meaning "life force energy" in very simple terms). Other conditions it is used for include reducing stress, boosting the immune system, and in the treatment of upper respiratory infections, diabetes, certain cancers, etc.

There are 2 main ginseng plants used in traditional medicine - Asian ginseng and American ginseng. We, Sibedee, were most interested in American ginseng grown in the USA for its safe use as a stimulant while at the same time reducing stress and enhancing concentration as well as its well-known efficiency in bringing the body back into balance.

Because American ginseng is coveted and expensive, unethical ginseng sellers often sell mislabeled and adulterated American ginseng. Usually, these unscrupulous sellers will mix American ginseng with poorer quality and sometimes outright unsafe American ginseng grown in other countries with real American ginseng. These poorer quality ginseng often contain pesticides and heavy metals.

Some sellers in China and in the USA as well as throughout the world are guilty of outright fraud. They sell 100% “fake” American ginseng! This “fake” American ginseng is often grown in China but customers are told it is from the USA (or Canada). As a result, most Chinese are wary of American ginseng sellers.
